Electrical Industries Charity Appoints Andy Reakes as Vice President

The Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) has welcomed Andy Reakes, Director of Growth and Development for the JIB and ECS, as its new Vice President. Andy started his work with the EIC in 2018, when he chaired the Emerging Professionals Board and helped to foster new perspectives and engagement. He now brings his long-standing commitment to the charity, and his professional expertise, to the role of Vice President.

The EIC supports members within the electrical and energy sectors who are facing hardships and need assistance. They provide a wide variety of services including:

  • Bereavement Counselling
  • Legal Advice
  • Advocacy
  • CV Support
  • Psychiatric Assessments
  • Will Support
  • Emergency Financial Assistance

Speaking on his new role, Andy said: “The EIC is here for everyone in the industry – whether you’re just starting, in management, or retired. I encourage everyone to not only utilise our programmes when needed but also to support our initiatives.”

EIC will kickstart 2025, which marks the 120-year anniversary of its founding, with the ‘Jail or Bail’ fundraiser. Trustees and the EIC Management Team will be locked up in London, with their freedom lying in the hands of donations. No matter how big or small, every contribution helps the EIC to continue providing their vital services to those in need.
