On Monday 06 January 2025 wage rates for the electrical contracting industry will increase in line with the two-year wage deal implemented in January 2024 under the JIB Collective Agreement. The key changes include the following:
- 5% increase to rates
- £10,000 increase to death in service benefit – therefore an increase from £30,000 to £40,000
- A ‘recoupment’ arrangement for sick pay – an arrangement to reimburse the 2nd week of absence after an employee has been off sick for 8 weeks
- 50p-£2 responsibility money – an increase from previous 10p-£1
