Working party to review apprentice pay

As part of the settlement agreement for the Wage Negotiations for 2024 and 2025, the ECA, SELECT and Unite the Union agreed to establish a working party to review apprentice rates of pay.

The increase in the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for 2024 exceeded the JIB rates for Stage 1 and 2 apprentices. As a statutory provision this required increases in those rates of pay to meet this legal minimum.

To ensure that electrical installation apprentices are appropriately remunerated ECA, SELECT, and Unite the Union are jointly reviewing the rates of pay, under the JIB and SJIB Agreements. We will communicate changes when they are agreed.
